Maintenance Tips
  • Clean or Replace Air Filters: Regularly clean or replace the air filters every 1-3 months, depending on usage and air quality. Dirty filters can block airflow, reducing efficiency and causing the system to work harder. Replace filters as needed or clean them using a vacuum or mild detergent.
  • Inspect and Clean Coils: Clean the evaporator and condenser coils every 6-12 months to prevent dirt buildup, which can reduce the systemโ€™s efficiency. Use a soft brush or coil cleaner to remove debris. Cleaning the coils ensures proper heat exchange and airflow, optimizing performance.
  • Check for Condensate Drain Blockages: Make sure the condensate drain is clear and unobstructed. Clogs in the drain can cause water buildup, leading to leaks or mold growth. Periodically inspect the drain and use a wet/dry vacuum to clear any debris or flush the line with warm water.
  • Inspect Refrigerant Lines and Insulation: Check the refrigerant lines for any visible signs of damage or leaks. Ensure the insulation around the lines is intact to prevent energy loss and condensation buildup. Replace any damaged insulation to maintain system efficiency.
  • Clean the Air Handler's Intake Grille: Dust and debris can accumulate on the intake grille of the ceiling cassette unit, which may impact airflow. Clean the grille carefully to prevent dust buildup and ensure proper air circulation.
  • Ensure Proper Ventilation: Ensure that the area around the ceiling cassette air handler is unobstructed and that there is adequate airflow. This will help the system maintain efficiency and prevent strain on the unit.
  • Check System Performance: Regularly monitor the systemโ€™s performance. If you notice reduced cooling/heating, unusual noises, or inconsistent temperatures, schedule a professional inspection to address potential issues early.
  • Schedule Annual Professional Maintenance: Schedule an annual maintenance service with a licensed technician. A professional will check refrigerant levels, inspect the entire system for any potential issues, clean the internal components, and ensure the air handler is running efficiently.
  • Ensure Proper Airflow Distribution: Verify that the cassette unit is distributing air evenly throughout the space. Obstructions or misalignment can cause uneven cooling or heating. Adjust the unit's settings or ensure proper installation to maintain optimal performance.
