Maintain Glycol Temperature: Ensure glycol is maintained at 38°F (3°C) to preserve beverage quality.
Regular Line Cleaning: Clean beer lines every 14 days using a sodium hydroxide (caustic) solution, followed by an acid-based cleaner every third or fourth cleaning. Utilize a motorized cleaning pump for at least 10 minutes. Disassemble and clean keg couplers and faucets, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Glycol System Maintenance: Replace glycol solution annually, or more frequently in high-humidity areas, to prevent ice buildup. Use glycol-wrapped or Kool-Rite™ technology beer dispensing towers. Ensure the glycol power pack is properly sized and located in a well-ventilated area, not inside the walk-in cooler.
Airflow Management: Maintain proper airflow circulation from the walk-in cooler to the dispense towers and back. Ensure the impeller blower is appropriately sized and avoid more than two 90° bends in the air path.
System Pressure Settings: Use a gas blender (CO₂ & N₂) and ensure that the system restriction is balanced properly to the target applied pressure. A target applied pressure of 20-25 PSI is recommended for blended gas. Each beer line should have its own secondary regulator to set the applied pressure.
